Simon Wood - Head PGA Professional

Simon has been the Head Professional at Scraptoft Golf Club since 1996 and over the years his role in the club has evolved into the person to go to for all golfing requirements. Simon runs a well-stocked and competitively priced Pro Shop with all the major brands and is an expert club fitter to get the right clubs to help you enjoy the game. He runs all the golf competitions and has an active role on the handicap and marketing committees. Simon also likes to play socially and competitively although it is more social than competition golf these days!

Simon is the first port of call for all green fee and society bookings and will help make your golf day as stress free as possible. Simon has also served as Captain, Chairman and Treasurer on Local and Midland committees for nearly 30 years and worked with England Golf promoting golf participation in Leicestershire.

Ian Lyner - Advanced PGA Professional


Ian turned professional in 1998 and played on the EuroPro tour and other mini tours. In 2004 he became a qualified PGA Professional.

As a teaching professional, Ian has worked with players that have played on the European and Challenge tour. Ian also won the EuroPro tour and Midland order of merit.Ian played at Midland and County level as an amateur and won the Midland order of merit a number of times.Ian worked for England Golf as County Devlopment Officer and administrator for the County Academy Program for Leicestershire and Rutland. Ian later became an Advanced PGA Professional in 2016.
